An Overview of Haploid and Double Haploid Production Methods in Wheat

For about a century, researchers have been working on haploidy approach. Progressively, they discovered the importance and usefulness of haploids in various research fields. On other hand, it is suggested that climate change impacts crop production, especially wheat, requires rapid efficient methods plant breeding to produce new cultivars with sufficient level biotic abiotic tolerance avoid significant production loss. Haploid plants are source for producing homozygous pure lines genetic variability programs. It reduces time stable forms recombination by half breeding. Furthermore, exclusive male generation, induction mutations, stress resistance cultivars, cytogenetic studies, doubled haploid crops. This review presents brief overview wheat previous successful experiments wheat.
